Once again, I am grimly reminded of my own mortality. My brother had a triple bypass last Friday. He's doing ok, considering.
I am one of 8 children, 5 of which are still living. About a month or so ago, my sister, Judy, passed suddenly. No autopsy was done, but heart attack was the most likely cause. My other sister, Sally, died from massive heart attack several years ago. Both of my still living sisters have had bypass surgery, one of them twice.
My wife is starting to believe that heart problems run in my family. Go figure.
Both myself and my younger brother have been warned about high blood pressure.
My wife is bugging me to get checked out. I am the type who never goes to the doctor. I think if they ever told me I needed bypass, or even a carotid endarterectomy like my brother had last August, I'd probably just drop dead on the spot, anyway.
I treasure every day. Life is precious. Live it like that.
