For years and years, drivers have been complaining about detention time and wanting to charge shippers and receivers for the time they have lost just waiting.

Can you just charge a shipper or receiver for time spent waiting? Not really. Most shippers and receivers are going to tell you that they need 1-2 hours to load or unload you. So if you've been waiting for an hour and a half, don't think they are going to start paying you.

Just bought a GPS software package for truckers called: CoPilot 11 And it is not all that it implies it is. So becarefull before you buy it. It advertises that you can enter the EXACT size of your truck/trailer etc and that you will be routed according to that information for bridges low obsticles etc. The only size you can ENTER is the Length of 53'ft trailer. The unbelevieable has happened CPS has taken my childern and they want me to quit my job as a over the road tucker and they wont give me my kids back. I would also like to inform other truck drivers that are based out of Tucson, AZ to be aware of what they Child Protective Services have done.
